Therefore, this method combines mainly passive stretching, with the application of pressure by the therapist using his hands, elbows, and sometimes his knees to perform a more effective treatment. It is a unique therapy and with great potential in the field of massage.

Where does Thai massage come from?

Thai Massage has been performed for over 2,500 years. As a physical form of sharing the benefits of meditation and compassion.

The founding father of Thai massage was Dr. Jivaka Kumarbhaccha. He was an advanced yoga practitioner and physician in the ancient healing tradition of Ayurveda. Of all the distinguished people that Jivaka attended, the most recognized one was Buddha. Hence why, this ancient massage was spreading to Thailand, with the expansion of Buddhism throughout the Asian continent.

How is a Thai Massage session?

The practice of this massage is related to the kind love or loving compassion that Buddhism preaches. Therefore, the technique focuses on the well-being, pleasant attention, and integral care of the patient.

You use the hands, fingers, elbows, forearms, feet, knees, and legs. However, the four anatomical postures are worked on: supine, prone, lateral, and seated.

A regular session can last between 60 and 120 minutes. It’s done on a futon to provide a stable, firm base, and execute the sequence with total security.

After a Thai massage session, each person perceives different sensations. In general, we feel restarted, with more energy and without physical tensions and joint restrictions.
