Many people wonder why eating more Vegan foods is good for weight loss. The answer is that eating more vegan foods is not necessarily good for losing weight because it depends on the kind of vegan foods being eaten.
Many foods like french fries and oreo cookies are technically vegan but are very far from healthful. Eating fried or sugary vegan or vegetarian foods does not add to our level of health but actually degenerates it. Only when we eat high quality foods like fruits and vegetables and nuts and seeds and blue-green algaes etc that have not been cooked do we start to lose weight and return to our natural bodyweight.
It is true however that employing a plant based diet is often associated with weight loss. This is the case for several reasons. Eating animal foods subjects our body to all manner of toxins and potential for constipation. Eating lots of cooked fats that come with many animal products is deleterious to health and encourages weight gain.
In the end it should not be so much about weight loss as it is about health and if any weight loss strategy has a negative effect on our overall health and wellbeing than that strategy should be replaced with an integrative nutrition system that does both help us return to our natural bodyweight and also makes us healthier and more vital and feeling more alive every day.
